On Thursday, August 27, I went to El Paso just before dusk and saw a Sanderling that was repoted there. This was only the second Sanderling I had ever seen at this location. On Friday, I when returned, the Sanderling was still there. The bird was in the Northwest lagoon with a large variety of shorebirds, including Spotted, Solitary, Least, Semipalmated, and Pectoral Sandpipers, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, 7 Baird's Sandpipers, and 2 Wilson's Phalaropes. Here is a photo of the Sanderling from Friday.

And here is one of the two Wilson's Phalaropes. These were the third and fourth Wilson's Phalaropes I had seen at this location this Fall.

I returned on Saturday, and the Sanderling was still present.

Here is one of the Semipalmated Sandpipers that was present.

And here is one of the Baird's Sandpipers.

On Sunday, when I returned, the Sanderling was still present, and there were 8 Baird's Sandpipers, 9 Semipalmated Sandpipers, 31 Least Sandpipers, 54 Pectoral Sandpipers, 22 Lesser Yellowlegs, a Greater Yellowlegs, a Solitary Sandpiper, and 11 Killdeers.
